KaiserAir
awarded 50-year Flying Safety Award
OAKLAND,
Calif. – These days companies come and go;
aviation companies are no different. Unless you are talking
about KaiserAir. Not only are they still going strong after
nearly 55 years, but today they celebrated receiving the 50-year
Safe Flying Achievement Award from the National Business Aviation
Association (NBAA). Introduced in 1998, this award gives
special recognition to NBAA Member Companies that have flown 50
years or more without an accident.
"Safety is always our number one consideration," stated Ron Guerra,
President at KaiserAir, who accepted this award at a celebratory
luncheon for employees, guests and friends. "We have flown
more than 100 million miles and have transported thousands of passengers
including former presidents and prime ministers. But no
matter who flies with us, our safety standards are impeccable. I
take great pride in our staff and am very pleased that the NBAA
has also awarded ten of our technicians with the Aviation Maintenance
Technician Safety Award."
Dan
Burkhart, Western Region Director of NBAA, noted that only a
few companies that fly commercially have been in business for
50 years and have achieved a perfect safety record. "We
started this recognition program several years ago when we realized
our members stand out in the field of aviation. KaiserAir
is a perfect example of this. Only four companies are receiving
this award this year so KaiserAir is among the elite."
KaiserAir's
perfect safety record includes not only its home base in Oakland,
but also satellite locations in Singapore, England, Chicago,
Charleston and Los Angeles. Its charter fleet has consisted of
a wide variety of aircraft, including Challengers, Falcons, Gulfstreams,
Hawkers, Lears, Citations, Westwinds and helicopters. In
fact, KaiserAir currently operates more Gulfstreams than any other
charter operation in northern California.
Gulfstream
President Bryan Moss was not surprised to hear about KaiserAir's
award. "We have been partners with KaiserAir
for four decades and have known them to always be meticulous about
their maintenance, focused on their service, and attentive to every
detail – the kind of diligence that got them this award," Moss
said. "Though this kind of recognition is attributed to
the entire company, Ron Guerra deserves the lion's share of the
kudos. His leadership and dedication is key. Gulfstream
prides itself on being the World Standard; KaiserAir clearly shares
the same philosophy."
KaiserAir specializes in the operation and maintenance of Gulfstream,
Hawker, Citation and other business jet aircraft. Thirty-three
of Fortune Magazine's Top 50 corporations make KaiserAir's Executive
Terminal their home when they conduct business in the San Francisco
Bay Area. Its history dates back to 1946, when it began as the
flight department for the Kaiser companies founded by the late
industrialist Henry J. Kaiser.
