Security Initiatives

In order to help prevent acts of terrorism involving general aviation aircraft, we have established the following security guidelines at our Oakland, CA facility.

Until further notice, KaiserAir facilities will be operating with the following security initiatives:

1. The access doors from the KaiserAir Executive Terminal to the aircraft ramp have been secured in the closed position, and can be opened only by a KaiserAir customer service representative.

2. All flight crew members are required to check in and register at the customer service counter upon arrival at KaiserAir’s FBO.

3. Disembarking passengers and flight crew members on arriving aircraft will be escorted by a KaiserAir employee to the KaiserAir Executive Terminal.

4. Flight crew members must identify themselves upon arrival at the KaiserAir Executive Terminal before being escorted to the aircraft parking area or aircraft operations area.

5. Flight crew members must identify and verify all of their passengers and respective baggage before the passengers will be allowed to exit the terminal (under KaiserAir escort) to the aircraft.

6. Taxicabs and rental cars are not allowed on the aircraft ramp under any circumstance.

7. Personal vehicles containing passengers and baggage identified by the respective flight crewmembers must be cleared by KaiserAir personnel, and escorted onto and from the aircraft ramp. No personal vehicles are to remain parked on the aircraft operations area.

8. All passenger transport vehicles, such as limousines, must be properly identified and verified by flight crew members before vehicle(s) will be permitted onto the ramp.

9. Pilots of local flying club aircraft must show the aircraft logbook to a KaiserAir customer service representative and identify themselves prior to being escorted to the aircraft.

10 Locally based flight crew members must display the valid Port of Oakland identification badge at all times while inside the KaiserAir Executive Terminal, and while on the aircraft ramp. Those flight crew members who display the current Port of Oakland ID badge will be released to their aircraft unescorted.

11. Those vehicles displaying a valid Port of Oakland ramp pass or KaiserAir parking sticker are authorized on the ramp if driven by an individual who is wearing a valid Port of Oakland Security badge, and is released by KaiserAir personnel.

12. Additional security requirements are pending release of the Transportation Security Agency’s 12,500-pound and 95,000-pound rules. We will advise of the impact in summary form as soon as the final rules are in place.

We apologize if any of these security initiatives may cause you or your passengers inconvenience. Our goal is to maintain as safe an environment for you, your passengers, and your aircraft as possible.
