Every week our airplane heads to Hawaii and it is always a production. This is the push back- airline style.
How often do you get to see a World War II era B-26?
Pretty sweet - this was right outside my window last week.
The North Field of Oakland International Airport. KaiserAir is now based in Hangar 4 (towards the top of the photo). The funny thing is that most of these buildings still exist here; the place looks a little different with all of the Gulfstreams and Boeings parked all over, but pretty much still the same...
KaiserAir continues to be a bucket of laughs - day in & day out. Seriously, this is a great company and I enjoy the chance to write a regular blog about what is going on with KaiserAir... But I have to admit that I was concerned - no make that worried - that there wouldn't be enough to write about to keep this interesting... nothing worse than sitting in front of your computer with "writer's block", but then I realized that in fact, there is always something to write about here....
We have just gone through the exercise of creating a new web site so that we can more easily communicate information about our company. One discussion we have had internally is whether people have any interest in the history of KaiserAir, and where we came from as a company. Some people think that no one really cares about the old Kaiser Industries anymore, but I am fascinated by it. This company has so much incredible history that is tied to the City of Oakland, but also to the aviation industry, that I am of the firm opinion that if we could make a museum here within our terminal, people would come out just to see it.
One interesting fact is that the old Kaiser companies were very involved with aviation - and not just because of the in-house flight department. There was the old Kaiser Aerospace and Electronics Corporation, but there was also the involvement with Howard Hughes and the construction of the HK-1 (Spruce Goose). This company has managed the airplanes of some of the world's largest corporations and leaders, so there are always good stories going around here.
There is always something different at KaiserAir, so I will try to write about those things - and keep this blog interesting. Even if it means just posting a few new pictures here on the blog now and again..
KaiserAir will take you in privacy and comfort wherever you want, whenever you want, in an aircraft that’s perfect for you.
